| its a bit hard without seeing what you are doing but is he food orientated or ball crazy try and get him focused on that do circular walks not on a lead and in the garden and see if he shows interest, then lots of praise when he does walk with you, also gently give him the heel command and make it fun use your voice to show him you are happy with him to come with you dont go pulling and yanking and shouting at him he will become more despondent, also maybe the collar is hurting him it may be tight or he might have a neck problem which the collar could be aggravating, try him off lead for a few weeks with loads of praise fun, games and get him used to it slowely, build his confidence up and then put the lead on but let it lie on the floor and do some more heelwork in a circle with food or the ball to let him know the lead is there but wont hurt him also what type of lead do you use on him a webbing or leather lead is best these chain leads are horrible and heavy, once he has been doing that for a few days with the lead following him then try it with you holding it and walking around the garden if all is ok try a small walk if he does stop and wont go take a step back and reinforce the good that you have done in the garden, best thing to do with any type of training is if you come across a problem take a step back and correct it dont push your dog give him time to realize all is ok ems
